CHALLENGE

Streamlight is the leading supplier of flashlights and portable lighting devices for emergency workers, specifically fire fighters and police. They sought to capitalize on their reputation in those markets by expanding into mainstream hardware, outdoor, and recreation retailers.

They have over 50 skus in their line - from small pen lights and headlamps, up to large handheld lanterns.  Many of their lights are rechargeable.

They needed a strongly branded display system that could accommodate all of these different shapes and sizes of lights. The system also had to be modular, allowing individual elements to function alone or on a display base. Additionally, the displays needed to function on a counter top, a slat wall, or peg board.

Since many of their lights sell for more than $100, security was an issue.

The displays also had to allow for interchangeable Backer Cards and Feature Benefit graphics, depending on the retailer and the product mix being displayed.

The aesthetic they required was "simple, high tech, and elegant".

MARKET RESULTS

The intial interest in the system has been high in Streamlight's key markets. The displays have been instrumental as they continue to expand into the mainstream retailers they've targeted. The displays continue to be re-ordered as Streamlight’s success grows.
